The Johnstown Monroe Local School District is accepting applications for the position of part time choir paraprofessional.  This person will assist our choir director in grades 6-12 two days per week.  Below is a list of some of the job requirements and qualifications.

 

•  Vocalizes students with knowledge of vocal technique
• Assists teacher with logistical tasks such as setting up/tearing down for performances, preparing instructional resources, etc.
• Leads sectional rehearsals (1-2 sections at a time)
• Leads full instructional rehearsals while teacher pulls out small groups for assessments/additional help
• Accompanies class rehearsals
• Accompanies for solo and ensemble performers
• Effectively manage large classes of students
• Communicate with administration, other staff and district patrons
• Maintain student behavior standards to ensure productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances.
• Monitor students in and out of the classrooms
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students
• Assists teacher in auditioning and selecting members for the top ensembles for the following school year
• Assists teacher in preparing students individually for Solo and Ensemble Contest
• Helps prepare soloists and small ensembles for fall and spring performances
